Welcome to Speaker's Corner Piera where you can find out all you need to know regarding English courses and facilities on offer.
Here at our academy we are able to call on over 20 years of experience in designing English courses and development programmes for the commercial world. Along with our language consultancy service we can also help improve the economic status of our clients as we have a wealth of experience in international commercial activities.
Classes can be either carried out at our academy in Piera (Barcelona) or on the clients’ premises, pending on the facilities available. Our courses can be tailor made to specific jobs, specialized work or adapted to individual workers. They can also be very open and flexible, working on general skills.
What are the problems of today in learning English?
Having titles in English is all very reassuring but how many times have we come across people with First Certificate (B2) or C1 and then struggle to communicate efficiently in international business. How many people come out of conferences looking blank at each other because they don’t understand the speakers’ strange accents? It’s a nightmare for everyone involved.
Well, not anymore! Speaker’s Corner can overcome these problems. We can train and fine tune listening skills, develop speaking skills and improve communication skills to levels never thought possible. Changing people’s awareness about cultural differences also plays an important role.
Oxford English or the Queen’s English is all very nice, but what use is it if you can only understand people who speak the same. Oxford English or the Queen’s English is not at all natural. To speak this way, children from a very early age have to have elocution lessons, often going to extremes by putting plums inside their cheeks and repeating “Hello, Peter! How are you?” or “HOW NOW BROWN COW”.
